About Me:

Nice to meet you! I'm Kevin and I'm a 4th year Biology major. Whether it's working as a tutor at the Academic Resource Center, volunteering for the Brain Exercise Initiative at UCR, or serving as a CNAS Science Ambassador, you can find me all around campus. I'm interested in pursuing medicine and plan on applying for the 2023-2024 medical school cycle!


Goals and Aspirations:

1) Maintain a consistent and healthy sleep schedule
2) Exercise for at least 30 minutes per day
3) Become a physician that empowers his patients and community


Extracurriculars:

CNAS Science Ambassadors Little EINSTEINs External Communications Chair: I communicate with teachers and other RUSD liaisons to coordinate science experiments and lessons for K-6 students.

UCR Academic Resource Center Tutorial Assistance Program (TAP) Tutor: I conduct seven 50-minute tutoring sessions (1-on-1, up to 4 students) per week in subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics, organic chemistry, and mathematics.

UCR School of Medicine Health Coach Program Riverside University Health System Health Coach at Rubidoux Family Care Center: I coach patients to tackle specific and measurable goals designed to tackle chronic health conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and obesity.

Power of Words and Numbers (POWAN) Initiative POWAN Empower Hour Coordinator: I coordinate communication between POWAN Instructors, teachers and administrative staff of Ramona High School, and POWAN administrators to ensure the highest quality for the POWAN Empower Hour program.

UCR School of Medicine Future Physician Leaders (FPL) Program FPL Student Leadership Committee (SLC) Secretary: I lead the FPL SLC in terms of keeping track of meeting notes, being the point of contact for SLC members, managing the official FPL Instagram, and coordinating FPL outreach during the spring before the program starts in the summer.

San Bernardino Free Clinic (SBFC) Volunteer & Outreach Committee Member: I volunteer once per month since the clinic is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. I gather grant application info for the clinic to gain crucial funding for its services including free labs for the San Bernardino population. 

Brain Exercise Initiative (BEI) at UCR Team Leader: I spearhead volunteer teams in guiding seniors with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's through exercise packets designed to improve their memory and cognitive function.
