Maeve-Darly Domond
Vice President of Community Building
About Me:
Hi, y'all! My name is Maeve-Darly Domond and I'm a fourth-year majoring in biological sciences. I have a passion for inclusive education and engaging underrepresented groups in STEM. As a result, I am the Vice President of SISTERS which aims to promote higher education and STEM-related pathways to middle school girls in the greater Riverside community. In addition to my STEM endeavors, I serve as a writing tutor for the University Writing Program at UCR and encourage writing across all disciplines and courses including STEM-based curriculum. I am a proud Science Ambassador and excited to be the Vice President of Community Building this academic year. I am ecstatic to bring engaging, interactive, and connecting events to the Science Ambassador community. After my undergraduate experience commences, I plan to continue my passion for STEM and my journey to PA school. Feel free to reach out to me! #HighlanderPride
Goals and Aspirations:
My professional and academic goals do not stop at the undergraduate level. I plan on taking a gap year to accrue necessary prerequisite courses, gain healthcare experience, and take time away from school to really align with my passion. I hope to gain my Masters in Physician Associate studies at an accredited institution and specialize in Dermatology/Aesthetics. I look forward to finding ways to work in the public sector and give back including continuing my non-profit work.
Extracurriculars:
SISTERs Vice President: I am the Vice President of SISTERs where we engage middle school girls in STEM-related fields by utilizing interactive and demonstrative role models and speakers to inspire the girls.
MSRIP Summer Research Intern: I engaged in paid summer research in the Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology Department where I created theoretical models for hybrid zones in ants via coding.
